AWS Cookbooks
Cookbooks are being sold for $15.00 each. This is a vegetarian cookbook that has more that 300 recipies! Thank you parents for your contributions and for helping make this something that will be used for many years. Buy your cookbook today! Contact the school office for details.
Scrip Program (Shopping Cards)
Our Scrip program is an on going fundraising program that lets parents and/or family buy merchant gift cards through the Home & School Association. You do not have to pay extra. It is like buying a gift card at the mall. The only difference is YOUR school recieves a percentage of the profit. It is an easy way to earn money for YOUR school. Place your orders for merchant cards with Tanya Jansen.
For more information check out www. glscrip.com.
If you don't see the store card you are looking for, order an American Express pre-paid card. You can use it anywhere American Express is taken with NO activation fee. Remember this is money you are earning for the school without any additional out of pocket expense.
Boxtops for Education
Boxtops, located on many everyday grocery items, are collected the first Monday and Tuesday morning of each month (unless we are out of school). Kathy Nelson has been in charge of this program for several years and we really appreciate all that she does. In the last year AWS has earned over $1500 through this program. Thanks to everyone who participates. Keep clipping and bringing them in!

"Helping HandS"
Volunteer Incentive Program
|
Mission
The "Helping HandS" volunteer incentive program was implemented two years ago. The purpose of this program is to assist in maximizing parental involvement in all areas of the school either by volunteering at fundraising events, assisting with volunteer opportunities or helping with school improvements. Parents can also assist the teachers in the classroom whenever necessary.
How the Program Works
Parents volunteer their time for the school and submit their hours at the school office. A "time card" will be provided as well as a list of volunteer needs for the school. There will be examples of volunteer opportunities for parents with work schedules that prevent them from helping during school hours. The Home & School Association will track all volunteer hours. After a parent completes 5 hours of volunteer time, the family name (or one they designate) of that volunteer will be entered into a drawing. For every 5 hours volunteered, the family receives 1 entry. At the Home & School meeting in May, one name will be drawn and the family will receive a $500.00 tuition credit for the Greater Collegedale School System (AWS, CAMS, or CA) for the following year.
