Welcome to A. W. Spalding Elementary
We are a Seventh-day Adventist school located in Collegedale, TN.  Our staff are committed to providing quality education in a Christ-filled environment.  Our school is part of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist school network.  It is accredited through the North American Division, Adventist Edge, and SACS.  The Seventh-day Adventist educational system includes elementary and high schools, colleges and universities in countries around the globe.

Principal's Message 8/19/2010


Dear Students and Parents,
 
Welcome to AW Spalding Elementary School. We hope your time here this year will be academically, socially, and spiritually enriching. We have been working hard to provide you with the best school possible and are delighted you have chosen Spalding this year. I hope your summer vacation was filled with great times and relaxing fun. As we start the school I would like to encourage you to be at your very best every day. To do that I want to remind you of some important things you should do. First, get plenty of sleep. Most of you need 8-10 hours of sleep so you feel alert and attentive to your teachers. Start the day with a good breakfast. Your brain needs power to function properly and it gets that power from a nutritious breakfast. Drink several glasses of water during the day. Most students keep a water bottle at their desk. Get proper exercise during your recess time and PE classes. Be cooperative and respectful to your classmates and teachers. Your friends and teachers want you to succeed.
 
We urge our parents to be involved in all aspects of the school setting. Your volunteering 2-3 hours a week/month goes a long way to helping classroom teachers provide the best for your child. I look forward to getting to know all of you  this year and hope this is the best year ever.
